On Saturday, September 19, Surfrider Miami joined millions of volunteers around the world for International Coastal Cleanup 2026, the world's largest one-day volunteer effort for our oceans and waterways. Our local cleanup took place at 100 Ocean Drive bringing together community members ready to take direct action for our coast. 🌊🧤
Alongside our partners at Clean Miami Beach, Clean Miami-Dade, and VolunteerCleanup.org, volunteers gathered on the shoreline to remove litter and debris before it makes its way into our ocean and bay. Every bag of trash collected is one less threat to Miami's marine ecosystems and the communities that depend on healthy waters.
International Coastal Cleanup is more than a local event. It is a global movement that unites people across countries and coastlines around a shared commitment to protecting the ocean. Being part of that movement alongside millions of other volunteers is a powerful reminder that collective action works.
