On Saturday, June 21, Surfrider Miami brought the community together at 35th Street Beach to celebrate International Surfing Day. The beach came alive with ocean lovers, activists, and friends sharing waves, fun, and a deep appreciation for the sea.
The day included a beach cleanup, surf and paddle lessons, games like cornhole and frisbee, paddle contests, and a ceremonial paddle-out to honor and thank the ocean. There were also prizes, snacks, and cold drinks for all who joined in.
International Surfing Day is a global celebration of the waves and beaches we cherish. It is a reminder that while surfing is a gift, it also carries a responsibility to care for our coastlines and build an inclusive, united community of ocean advocates.
Thank you to everyone who participated, paddled out, volunteered, and celebrated with us. You helped make this day meaningful, joyful, and impactful.
