Coming Soon! New Surfrider Miami Programs

With a lack of Florida State funding going towards water quality testing, The Surfrider Foundation’s Blue Water Task Force (BWTF) program is the solution. It’s a volunteer-run, water testing, education and advocacy program.
BWTF will be used to alert both local citizens and visitors and officials about water quality problems and to work toward solutions. BWTF has demonstrated success by identifying problems with beach and coastal water pollution, raising public awareness of these incidents and working collaboratively with local stakeholders to find and implement pollution solutions. Surfrider Miami plans to begin testing to 5 Miami Beach locations before the end of 2017.

Plastic pollution is suffocating our ocean and marine life and there are now over 5 trillion pieces of plastic in the ocean. We need to stop the problem at its source! The Surfrider Foundation’s Ocean Friendly Restaurants program does just that. One restaurant, one customer at a time, increases awareness, drives change in behavior and ultimately creates scalable impact to reduce our plastic (and water!) footprint.
