Do you know any restaurants that are committed to making sustainable choices for our ocean? They could be a great fit for our Ocean Friendly Restaurants (OFR) Program, which recognizes restaurants dedicated to cutting out single-use plastics.
The process to become an OFR is easy and FREE! Plus, in return, the restaurant will access unique marketing collateral, be featured on Surfrider’s websites, get exclusive vendor discounts and more.
If you can’t think of any restaurants at this time that would be interested in becoming an OFR, that’s okay! You can still help us stop the 11 million metric tons of plastic waste from entering the ocean every year.
This pollution is impacting our marine ecosystems, wildlife and even us! Plastic contains toxic chemicals that can transfer from containers, cups, cutlery and straws directly into the food we eat.
That’s why we need your help - become an OFR volunteer to grow our OFR community! Together, we can promote and support like-minded restaurants, lifting them up as examples to influence plastic reduction legislation.
Are you an ocean lover looking to make lasting connections in the community?
Meet like-minded community members in Miami Beach on Sunday, November 3rd from 2 PM - 5 PM ET! We’ll enjoy an afternoon of games, surfboards and a beach cleanup.
A HUGE thank you to everyone who took action last month to help pass the Impervious Surface Ordinance! You are making waves for cleaner water in Miami.
