title: Give Miami Day (2 of 3)
---

Your support is needed before midnight.

| View in browser So far we’ve raised enough funding to run 172 water quality tests in 2025, but we still need your help to achieve our goal by midnight. DONATE NOW Have you ever gotten sick after a day at the beach? John Adams, a volunteer from our Blue Water Task Force (BWTF), has experienced this firsthand. “I had three major infections from swimming, so I wanted to get involved with Surfrider Miami to try and figure out why that’s occurring.”   John Adams Surfrider Miami BWTF Water Quality Results Reader John is one of our dedicated BWTF volunteers who helps us test water quality at 24 sites in Miami each week. We share these results with you every Friday so you can enjoy your weekend and confidently head to the beach, knowing the water is safe to swim.   We also utilize this water quality data to inform policy makers about local pollution issues, aiming to support the development of effective solutions. While this is vital work, each water quality lab test costs us $15!   As a 100% volunteer run organization that adds up quickly. We spend $360/week for water quality lab testing - which equates to a whopping $18,720/year!    With your support, we can continue to ensure clean water for you, your loved ones and our entire Miami community.
