John is one of our dedicated BWTF volunteers who helps us test water quality at 24 sites in Miami each week. We share these results with you every Friday so you can enjoy your weekend and confidently head to the beach, knowing the water is safe to swim.

We also utilize this water quality data to inform policy makers about local pollution issues, aiming to support the development of effective solutions. While this is vital work, each water quality lab test costs us $15!

As a 100% volunteer run organization that adds up quickly. We spend $360/week for water quality lab testing - which equates to a whopping $18,720/year!
