Find out more »Butts Off The Beach: Ashcan Data Collection
Conceptualized in 2014, and brought to life in 2018 thanks to a $10,000 grant from the City of Miami Beach, the program features branded canisters strategically placed throughout Miami Beaches’ Entertainment District, following a one year survey to assess which locations were in most need of butt receptacles. At the end of each month the canisters are emptied, the butts collected, counted and saved so that they can ultimately be turned into community park benches by Terracycle. Want to help…

As part of our mission to protect our coastlines, Surfrider Miami is playing an active role in restoring critical and very fragile habitat in South Florida – our coastal dunes.
