Bay to Beach Cleanup Race

April 24 @ 3:00 PM - 5:00 PM

April is Earth Month and it’s time for a race!

Did you ever consider that the trash in the streets will be washed into our ocean? Do you want to help us fix the problem and raise awareness about the problem while having a lot of fun?

Then join us for our ultimate Bay to Beach Cleanup Race!

To sign up:

What is it all about?

  • 7 teams (10 people per team) starting on the bay side of South Beach walking east towards the beach (from 5th street down to the Bay Walk).
  • Each team will pick up all the trash they can find – and believe us you will find a lot!
  • Once the teams arrive at the beach we will weigh it and the team with a the most trash collect will win the race… and more! 🙂

Signing up for this event can make you double profrom 5th street down to the Bay Walkud! The sign up fee of $10 (per person, kids no charge) goes directly to our Blue Water Task Force Program (BWTF). BWTF is our volunteer-led water quality monitoring program which does weekly tests at 20 locations in Miami-Dade to determine if they are safe to swim. Check out further information over here. And you will do something to keep our wonderful Earth clean and beautiful!

How does it work?

There are two ways:

  1. join a team (we have amazing and highly motivated team captains on board)
  2. create your own team.

After signing up you will receive an e-mail with further information about the procedure. Just make sure that everyone who wants to join has signed up (except from children who can join for free)!

After the proud winner team has been announced everybody is welcome to join Surfrider for a little after cleanup get-together (Information will follow).

We are looking forward to meeting you and with you  protecting the health and well-being of our planet’s most precious resource: clean water!
